Pizzahood

Last month the Club de Pizza traveled to my hometown, and sampled the Pizza of my tender years.  Tucked away in a strip mall that nobody goes to any longer, lies Marcello’s Pizza.  The garlic cheese bread was massive, and the garlic flavor was very evident.  We tested out the thin crust, and the double crust, not wanting to spend the time investment required for deep dish.  Personally, this is the Pizza I was raised on, and it sets the bar as far as thin crust.  If you can’t be at least this good, you should probably just pack it up.  This isn’t to say that this is the best Pizza that the Club has seen, but I feel everyone was satisfied with the quality and balance.  Apparently the chicken alfredo Pizza wasn’t fantastic, but who cares, because that’s not even Pizza.  There were actually people eating in the restaurant, though we didn’t have to wait too long to get a table for twelve.  I may rate it a little higher, as I spent a lot of time as a child, and even my first job was in this same mall, and I would travel down from the grocery store to pick up lunch.

If you ever find yourself out in Plymouth, looking for some classic thin crust Pizza, do not shy away from Marcello’s.  Plus they serve beer.
